Milwaukee Common Council Delays Vote on Downtown Streetcar

MacIver News Service | December 16, 2014

[Milwaukee, Wisc…] The Milwaukee Common Council used a administrative procedure to delay the final vote on the downtown streetcar until the next meeting in January. Ald. Bob Donovan (8th District) hopes that he will have enough time to change the minds of a couple of his colleagues to stop the project. Opponents, at least, hope to send the new streetcar proposal to a referendum. However, if bonding is approved by the Redevelopment Authority, that may not be possible.
