From the Chippewa Herald: County Board spends two hours tackling wage system

Chippewa County is looking at a new compensation system that will pay public employees based on merit rather than the amount of time an employee has worked for the county. The proposed change comes from a county-commissioned report by the McGrath Consulting Group studying its compensation system. The county is looking to make its first change to its compensation system since Act 10 was signed into law while updating a system that hasn’t changed since 1999. If the county board approves the change at its meeting next month, implementation will begin this September, and the plan would be in full effect starting January 1, 2015. You can read more about the report’s findings here and more about the merit pay system here.
