DPI: 2.1% Increase In School Aid Estimated For Next School Year

Today, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction released a general aid estimate for the 2014-15 school year. This estimate is used by school districts to help create their upcoming budgets. DPI estimates that general school aid will increase by 2.1% for a total $4.476 billion. Over half of districts in Wisconsin will be receiving more funding in the upcoming school year.

DPI also noted that this estimate does not account for additional categorical aid, which has increased by $75 per pupil compared to 2013. This additional categorical aid will be handed out to schools in March of 2015.
