Check Your Ballot

MacIver Institute CEO Annette Olson gives a quick lesson on three important constitutional questions on your upcoming ballot.

Election Day is November 3rd, and in addition to the key races for elected office, three constitutional questions are on the ballot that are all worthy of passing.

Question 1 stops a governor from using the partial veto to create or raise a tax or fee. The “400-year” school-funding trick, that cannot happen again.

Question 2 protects the freedom to gather in places of worship during an emergency, including a public health emergency. Government should never again be able to order churches closed.

Question 3 says the state may not discriminate against, or grant preferential treatment to, anyone on public jobs, schools, contracts, or administration. You know, equal treatment under the law.

These are not slogans. They are amendments. A yes locks them into the Wisconsin Constitution by you, the Wisconsin voter.

Check your ballot. Stand up for liberty and limited government.
