Marquette: Tiffany Leads in Rural Wisconsin
Voters across Wisconsin do not seem to be sold on David Crowley’s campaign for governor.
The latest Marquette Law School Poll shows that while Crowley has a statewide lead, 49-46, he is trailing in several key areas of the state.
"Among likely voters, Crowley holds substantial leads in the city of Milwaukee and the Madison media market, while Tiffany leads in the Green Bay/Appleton market and the north and west of the state," pollsters wrote.
Tiffany has a 57-39 lead in the Green Bay and Appleton region. The poll also shows that Tiffany has a 49-41 lead across the rest of Wisconsin, outside the Milwaukee and Madison media markets.
That includes a lead in the crucial WOW county region.
"In the Milwaukee media market outside the city, the race is close, with Tiffany at 50% and Crowley at 46%," the poll added.
Tiffany talked about his out-of-state support on Wednesday on X.
"We’re taking our campaign across Wisconsin, answering voters’ questions and hearing what matters to them," Tiffany wrote. "They don’t want four more years of the status quo. They want lower taxes and a governor for all 72 counties."
The Marquette Poll also showed that as more voters learn about Crowley, and learn more about his time as Milwaukee County executive, they like him less.
"Crowley’s unfavorable rating has grown the most among Republicans, rising from 50% to 75% unfavorable over the last month," pollsters noted. "Crowley’s unfavorables also rose among independents, from 25% to 39%, with a drop in favorable ratings from 26% to 18%."
The new Marquette Law School poll was conducted Sept. 16-23, 2026, interviewing 843 Wisconsin registered voters, with a margin of error of +/-4.3 percentage points. For likely voters, the sample size is 692 with a margin of error of +/-4.8 percentage points.
