Ilhan Omar Endorses Francesca Hong

Wisconsin’s race for governor is getting some national attention.

Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar on Tuesday endorsed Wisconsin Democratic Socialist Francesca Hong in the crowded Democratic race.

“Francesca Hong leads with moral clarity, compassion, and unmatched courage. Her commitment to building the policies working people need, and protecting our most vulnerable populations is essential in our current political climate. Voters are ready for a change, and Francesca meets this moment,” Omat wrote.

Hong immediately, and enthusiastically accepted.

“Honored to receive the endorsement of Ihan Omar—one of the bravest voices in politics and an unwavering champion for working people. The movement to create permanent affordability is growing, and national progressives are taking notice. The Midwest is leading the way,” Hong wrote on X.

Omar’s endorsement did not go unnoticed.

Team Trump quickly took to X to make Omar, and her support for Hong, a central theme of the race.

“Somalia-First Ilhan Omar's endorsement of far-left gubernatorial candidate @FrancescaHongWI is proof she is NOT the RIGHT CHOICE for Wisconsin!,” Team Trump added on X. “AMERICA FIRST @TomTiffanyWI is the right choice for Wisconsin. PICK TOM!”

Tiffany used Omar’s endorsement to once again hammer his campaign message to keep Wisconsin as Wisconsin.

"The more we 'lear' about @FrancescaHongWI , the more we realize she would turn Wisconsin into Minnesota. We don’t want billions lost to fraud, politicians getting rich, and taxpayers stuck with the bill," Tiffany wrote on X. "It’s really no surprise that Ilhan Omar would endorse Francesca Hong. When @FrancescaHongWI had the chance to support a fraud audit of our food stamp rolls, she voted no."

Hong currently leads Wisconsin’s crowded Democratic race for governor. The last Marquette Law School Poll gave her 14% of the vote, just ahead of Mandela Barnes, and way ahead of the rest of the candidates.
