Senate Republican Re-Election Chief Paints “Absolute Nightmare” of Dem Wins

Wisconsin’s possible next Senate Republican leader continues to believe that Republicans will hold on to the upper chamber after Election Day. And is saying it will be a nightmare if they don’t.

Senator Testin's Warning

Wisconsin’s possible next Senate Republican leader continues to believe that Republicans will hold on to the upper chamber after Election Day. And is saying it will be a nightmare if they don’t.

State Sen. Patrick Testin said it would be an “absolute nightmare” if Democrats take control of the State Senate next month.

“It would be an absolute nightmare,” Testin said during an interview on News Talk 1130 WIN. “They've been out in the wilderness for 15 years, and so if they get the keys the power within the Wisconsin State senate or both houses for that matter, they are going to be so punch-drunk that it is going to be open season. Things like Act 10 are going to go away, voter ID is going to disappear, Right to Work is going to go.”

Testin continues to focus on what he calls the Core Four. That would be Jim Croft in the Racine-area, Dr. Mike Roberts in the Brookfield-area, Sen. Howard Marklein in southwestern Wisconsin, and Michelle Skinner in the Eau Claire-area.

But his focus comes with questions. WisPolitics this month had stories that Testin and the Committee to Re-elect a Republican Senate are not “all in” in the Marklein race, and have all but written-off the Roberts race.

Marklein said Republicans must hold on to the Wisconsin Senate, not just to support Tom Tiffany if he wins as governor, but to stop Democrats from forcing their agenda on the state through the legislature, or select state departments.

"Let’s say we have a Gov. Tom Tiffany, and if the Democrats have control of the State Senate, they have the opportunity to basically take a look at all of Gov. Tiffany’s appointees, and shoot them down," Testin said. “It's going to cause absolute gridlock. And it's going to make getting a state budget done damn near impossible, because they are going to do whatever they need to do to enact their Left-wing agenda.”
