MADISON -- The John K. MacIver Institute for Public Policy released the following statement in support of Congressman Bryan Steil's MEGA election reform agenda, released today:
"Fair and verifiable elections are the bedrock of our democracy, and the MEGA Act would restore confidence in our elections and make them safer," said Annette Olson, CEO of the MacIver Institute. "MacIver has led the charge to bring election reform to Wisconsin and we are pleased to see Congressman Steil put forward such strong legislation in Congress."
“Americans should be confident their elections are being run with integrity – including commonsense voter ID requirements, clean voter rolls, and citizenship verification,” Congressman Steil said. “These reforms will improve voter confidence, bolster election integrity, and make it easy to vote, but hard to cheat.”
MacIver was a major leader last year in overwhelmingly passing a Constitutional amendment to ensure only eligible citizens can vote in our elections.
