JD Vance In Wisconsin: The War on Fraud

MILWAUKEE — Vice President JD Vance spoke Wednesday, July 8^th, in Milwaukee at the Wisconsin Air National Guard's 128th Air Refueling Wing. The Vice President focused primarily on the Trump administration’s efforts to combat government fraud and protect taxpayer-funded programs while also urging support for Republican candidates in upcoming elections.

Vice President Vance outlined multiple issues nationwide that have contributed to the greater fight against fraud. Namely, fraud in the durable medical equipment space, fraud having to do with the billing process for medical skin grafts, prenatal care benefits, as well as the H-1B Visa process. Vance stated, “We are not sanctioning a single one of these companies to defraud the American people.”

He framed the issues as a broader national divide, stating that “one political party fights fraud and protects programs for citizens, while the other enables fraudsters.” Vance also alluded to the Democrat Party prioritizing benefits for non-citizens over U.S. seniors, children, and working families. He repeatedly contrasted current Democrats with the “blue-collar Democrats” of 30 years ago and urged voters to support the SAVE America Act, ensuring that only American citizens have the ability to vote.

Vice President Vance also held a brief Q&A session with local reporters, providing an update on the Iranian conflict and our nation’s ability to keep the Strait of Hormuz open in the long term. Vance also spoke on continued efforts to review the 2020 election in Milwaukee, as well as Gov. Tony Evers’ reluctance to hand over data on SNAP and Medicaid in Wisconsin. He stated, “If you're a Democrat and you believe that Medicaid should exist to provide good health benefits to people who can't afford them, then why don't you want to cut down on the fraud? If you care more about fraud than you do about these health benefits, it starts to make it look that you care more about illegal aliens than you do about the citizens of Wisconsin. That's what it looks like to me.”

The Vice President thanked several administration and congressional figures, including Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz and multiple members of the fraud task force set up by President Trump. Vance specifically praised Wisconsin Republican Congressman Bryan Steil, Derrick Van Orden, Glenn Grothman, and Tony Wied for their support on fraud issues. He also endorsed state Congressman Tom Tiffany as the next governor of Wisconsin.
