Hong Goes After Tiffany
The leading candidate in Wisconsin’s Democratic primary for governor is once again using curse words on the campaign trail.
State Rep. Francesca Hong, D-Madison, dropped an F-Bomb while talking about Republican Tom Tiffany.
Hong called Tiffany a “fucking traitor” during a protest in Madison on Tuesday.
Madison’s NBC affiliate asked her to clarify, and she called Tiffany a “traitor” a second time.
"Voting to gut healthcare from Americans and rip food away from kids is traitorous," Hong added. "And voting to continue funding an illegal war in Iran while gas prices skyrocket, and he admits Americans don't want war, is traitorous. Tiffany is a traitor."
Tiffany responded:
"If Francesca Hong thinks protecting taxpayer-funded programs for American citizens is 'traitorous' that tells you how radical today's Democrat Party has become," Tiffany said in a statement. "The contrast in this race is clear: One side is driven by anger and radical ideology, while I'm focused on affordability, lowering taxes, and restoring common sense to state government."
Hong led the crowded Democrat primary field in the last Marquette Law School Poll. She had 14% of the vote, just barely ahead of former Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes. But Hong’s 14% put her far ahead of the rest of the pack.
Hong is known for her strong language. She frequently uses the F-word on the campaign trail, and in some of her campaign videos.
