Economics, Education, Psychology

Michael Lucas is a policy analyst at MacIver and received his bachelor's degree in economics and psychology from Hillsdale College in 2020. He has worked as a welder and truck driver and recently retired from teaching in Miami, Florida. While there, he taught middle and high school students science, mathematics, US history and economics, and authored the textbook "Economics: A Classical Reader."

Michael is an adherent of the Austrian School of economics and an intransigent defender of liberty, peace and voluntary association. He despises socialism and coercion in all its forms, and suffers no fools on X.

He has contributed to Robert Whitaker's blog "Mad in America"––a psychiatric reform blog––where he cautions against the uncritical application of psychiatric interventions for children. He is currently working on developing a classical curriculum and textbook for psychology.

He lives in the city of Burlington with his wife where they own and operate a budding equestrian facility and farm equipped with three cows, six cats and one lonesome dog to keep them all in check. Together they boast a library of over 500 books and are eagerly acquiring more.
