WEC Chairwoman Jacobs says Elections are Safe & Secure
Wisconsin’s top elections commissioner is defending the integrity of the state’s election while taking a swipe at the people who continue to question the 2020 election.
Wisconsin Elections Commission chairwoman Ann Jacobs on Tuesday touted a new pamphlet from the Commission that explains how Wisconsin’s elections are both safe and secure.
“The WEC has put together this terrific pamphlet outlining why Wisconsin elections are (and have been!) secure and accurate. I hope those with genuine questions review it - it answers so many false claims!” she wrote on Twitter.
The two-page pamphlet lays out the steps that the WEC takes with votes and voters each election day.
While it catalogs the steps, the WEC information is rather basic.
For example, under the Every Vote Has a Paper Trail section, it simply says “Wisconsin requires a paper record of every vote that’s cast in our state, no matter what kind of ballot or voting equipment is used.”
There are similarly thin answers for 11 other common questions.
And some, like the section on Voter ID, skip over the possible problems with Wisconsin’s electoral process. "Most voters must show “proof of identification” to vote in person or via absentee ballot," the pamphlet states.
There is a link to which IDs can be used as Voter IDs in Wisconsin. But there’s no acknowledgement of possible Voter ID loopholes in the state including that indefinitely confined voters don’t have to show ID, that some people who are not in the state legally have IDs that could be used to vote, or that Wisconsin’s military ballot law can be exploited.
Jacobs, however, said the pamphlet should answer any questions about the state’s electoral process.
“While you all may be surprised (or not) to learn that none of the usual conspiracy theorists have complained about the 11/5/24 election because Trump won, it is still very important to emphasize how secure and accurate Wisconsin elections are regardless of who won,” Jacobs added.
Jacobs, along with WEC’s administrators, and election managers in Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, Racine, and Kenosha have largely never answered any of the questions about the 2020 election with regards to the spike in indefinitely confined voters, the impact of the Zuckerbucks, nursing home voting trends, or Madison’s Democracy in the Park.
Jacobs has continued to say the 2020 election was fair, free, and secure. Just like she is saying about the 2024 election.
