Neenah Saves $1.8 Million on Health Insurance, Raises Teacher Base Salary 18 Percent

The Neenah School District announced last Tuesday that it has adopted a health care plan that will save taxpayers $1.8 million each year. These savings will help the district raise its base pay for teachers and allow Neenah’s schools to compete for some of the best young teachers in the state.

Neenah will raise their starting teaching salary from $34,319 to $40,500 – an increase of approximately 18 percent. This increase will help the district offer better wages for quality teachers in their region. Neighboring Appleton has a base salary of $38,241 for their educators.

The health insurance switch will now offer educational staff a high-deductible program and health care savings account program. For more details, see the full article from the Post Crescent here.
