Matthew Tragesser

Matthew Tragesser works in the Media and Public Relations Department at The Heritage Foundation in Washington DC. His commentary and analysis have been featured in various media outlets including Fox News, The Hill, and The Washington Post.

He previously served as the Communications Director for U.S. Congressman and Chairman of the Congressional Border Security Caucus Andy Biggs (R-AZ). Before working on Capitol Hill, Tragesser served as Press Secretary and National Spokesperson for the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR)—a large public interest non-profit advocating for secure borders and the rule of law. His political communications career began in Wisconsin, where he worked at the Wisconsin State Senate and MacIver.

Tragesser completed his master’s degree in public relations and corporate communications from Georgetown University. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in political science and international studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
