MacIver News Minute: Tomah VA Sued For Public Records Over Pharmacy Meltdown

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Such is the case at the Tomah VA Medical Center. After earning the derisive nickname “Candy Land” for its deadly over-prescribing of opioid painkillers, the facility is still in hot water. The Cause of Action Institute has filed a federal lawsuit demanding that the VA release important records. The lawsuit comes more than a year after MacIver News Service’s investigation into reports of a temperature surge at the center’s outpatient pharmacy. The VA has been dragging its feet for months after denying access to critical information. Just like it did in the Candy Land days.
