MacIver News Minute: Wisconsin’s Remedial Education Problem Gets Worse

Here’s a sad number: Students from 196 Wisconsin high schools had to take remedial math or English upon entering the UW, according to a new report from the UW system. Even more troubling, 50 percent of high schools receiving the highest, 5-star ratings on Wisconsin’s 2018 report cards sent graduates to college that needed remedial courses. More sad statistics from a public education system delivering too much failure.
