On Vicki McKenna: Act 10 Saves School Districts $3.2 Billion in Benefits Costs

Wisconsin school districts have saved $3.2 billion in employee benefits costs since Act 10 was enacted in 2011, new state data shows. Gov. Scott Walker’s collective bargaining reform gave districts more flexibility to find better deals on employee health insurance, resulting in benefits costs being 60 percent lower today than if the prior trend had continued.
