Paul Ryan Aims to Eliminate Poverty, Not Manage It

[Milwaukee, Wisc…] U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Janesville) spoke about his new plan to combat poverty at and event hosted by the MacIver Institute recently. He argued that the current system creates barriers to escaping poverty and has done little to change the poverty rate over the last 50 years. Ryan’s plan would empower local organizations and governments to take a more customized approach to ensure people can move from welfare to work.
