Bill Responds to Wisconsin’s Voter ID Legal Challenges

[Madison, Wisc…] Rep. Michael Schraa (R-Oshkosh) and Rep. Mark Born (R-Beaver Dam) testified at a public hearing today on Assembly Bill 493. The bill aims to respond to legal challenges to Wisconsin’s voter ID law by making it more similar to Indiana’s model, which was upheld by the US Supreme Court. Democrats were quick to question the bill and most arguments were against having voters present identification in general. The committee plans to schedule an executive session soon.
