With Congress and Sen. Baldwin Exempted from Obamacare, Will Wisconsinites get the same treatment?

[Madison, Wisc…] Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisconsin) continued to politicize Wisconsinites’ health care on Monday by demanding that Gov. Scott Walker accept the massive federal Medicaid expansion and fully support the implementation of Obamacare.

This request comes shortly after it was announced that Baldwin’s staff, and all congressional staff, would be exempt from Obamacare.

Unlike the hardworking citizens of Wisconsin that are being forced to participate in the federal health care exchange, more and more people with political connections in Washington are being exempt from the law that continues to go up in price.

“Why is congress exempt from Obamacare, when everyday citizens of Wisconsin are forced to participate?” asked Brett Healy, MacIver Institute President. “Sen. Baldwin is so busy lobbing partisan attacks at Gov. Walker that she apparently hasn’t had time to explain why she and her staff should be exempt from Obamacare. “

“We encourage Sen. Baldwin to take the next step, and exempt everyone from Obamacare,” said David Fladeboe, Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin Director. “The Affordable Care Act is anything but affordable. We ask Sen. Baldwin to exempt every Wisconsinite from this massive takeover of health care, not just the politically connected.”
