[Madison, Wisc…] Menomonee Falls own ZBB Energy Corp.–which has struggled despite receiving millions of dollars in government funding for its green energy projects–has teamed up with the U.S. Navy on a $1 million project.

On Tuesday, the company shipped the $1 million energy system to the Navy for the San Nicolas Island Naval Facility in the Catalina Islands near Los Angeles.

A Navy spokesman said they are considering implementing the system in other island settings across the globe.

According to the Milwaukee Journal, the contract represents one-fifth of ZBB’s sales for the fiscal year that ended June 30th.
