Monroe County

From the Tomah Journal, November 7, 2011:

Shared revenue cuts will be offset by employee contributions to the state retirement fund.

The county tax levy was set at $15,219,759; up from $14,993,660 in 2011.

On a brighter note, the mill rate will decrease from $5.95 in 2011 to $5.938 in 2012.

The reduction will mean a $1.17 decrease in county property taxes for a $100,000 home owner in the county.

The board received no objection to the budget as no one spoke during the public hearing portion of the meeting.
