GAB Defends Using Private Email Accounts

MacIver News Service | October 15, 2015

[Madison, Wisc…] Rep. David Craig (R-Big Bend) grilled GAB Executive Director Kevin Kennedy over his staff’s use of commercial email accounts while conducting official business.

Kennedy said they used Gmail accounts while working on the John Doe investigation to keep it separate from other operations. Also, he did not want to use government email accounts, because they were investigating people in the government.

Craig told MNS that someday the legislature will be investigating what really happened during John Doe. He worries those private email accounts could mysteriously and conveniently vanish when that time comes.

MNS’ Bill Osmulski has more in this report.
