Raising Up Wisconsin: How Minimum Wage Jobs Turned Into Family Supporting Careers

August 13, 2015

After more than a year of protests calling for the minimum wage to jump from $7.25 an hour to $15 an hour, the main stream media has yet to tell another side of the story – the side that shows it is possible to start at minimum wage and become a success.

Instead, they have just focused on the picket lines and the bull horns. This is only part of the story, however. And it is the only part of the story that the union bosses want the public to know about.

They don’t want people to know that through hard work and perseverance, anyone can move up from an entry-level, minimum wage job to management and even ownership of a company.

The John K. MacIver Institute for Public Policy will highlight three examples of Wisconsinites doing just that. They started washing dishes and flipping burgers, and now each of them manage, own and operate their own fast food restaurants.

These are true success stories that need to be told, and the main stream media simply is not doing that.

Stay tuned for future videos that will go in-depth into Maggie, Abby and Darin’s stories.
