[Madison, Wisc…] Gov. Scott Walker and Republican legislative leaders announced a special session on Thursday that will include a new plan to give homeowners $100 million in property tax relief. New state revenue calculations show a surplus, which Walker intends to pass on to property taxpayers through an increase in state equalization aides for school districts. Legislators expect the bill to pass through each house next week and be on the Governor’s desk that weekend. If that timeline is followed, homeowners will see the decrease reflected in their December property tax bill.
