The city of Black River Falls is moving ahead with a new employee handbook that will reduce both vacation and sick leave benefits. Employees previously could receive 300 hours of sick leave pay if they worked for 20 years and left the city on good terms, but that now is reduced to 160 hours after 20 years. Read More »

Act 10 uncertainty leaves county labor talks in limbo

With Gov. Scott Walker's Act 10 in legal limbo, local public employees are finding themselves in limbo as well. Act 10, which eliminated the bargaining rights of most Wisconsin public employees, was declared unconstitutional by a Dane County Circuit Court judge in September.
