The city of Milwaukee paid out 30 percent less overtime in 2012 thanks in part to changes coming from Act 10. City budget director Mark Nicolini gave some credit for the savings to Act 10 saying, “We think (Act 10) has had a meaningful impact.” Officials also credited better budgeting and planning by departments.
