Delavan Changes Health Care Insurers, Alters Post-Employment Benefits, Saves $600K

The Delavan-Darien School Board recently approved measures that would alter post-employment benefits, giving retirees four to eight years of health insurance coverage while saving the district funds to pour back into the classroom. After this four or eight year span concludes, retirees will have the option to purchase their own health care at a discount through the district. This move comes on top of $600K in savings from switching health insurance providers from WEA Trust to Humana.
