Nicole Hemkes was tired of being another “paper doctor” – just a few minutes with each patient followed by way too much paperwork. In December, Hemkes left that paper chase and opened a direct primary care clinic in the Madison area. Not only does this model of health care delivery get docs back to the basics – more time with patients and less insurance company paperwork – it has the potential to truly reduce the cost of quality health care.
