MacIver News Minute: On Dental Care Access, Wisconsin Could Learn From Minnesota

Wisconsin and Minnesota face similar problems with dental care access. But in 2009, Minnesota began licensing dental therapists, seizing on a free market opportunity to expand dental care at virtually no cost to taxpayers. A similar proposal has been circulating the Wisconsin Capitol, but died in the Assembly last week. If Wisconsin truly wants to expand dental access, lawmakers would be wise to revisit the idea of dental therapy.
