[Madison, Wisc…] Brett Healy, President of The John K. MacIver Institute for Public Policy, was presented with the Patriot Award on Monday in recognition of the Institute’s extraordinary support of National Guard Soldier and MacIver employee Captain Bill Osmulski.

The award was presented by Fred McCormick, Chair Emeritus of the Wisconsin Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense.

“Brett Healy was nominated for this prestigious national award by his employee, Bill Osmulski, who is a member of the National Guard and assigned to the 101st Airborne Division,” McCormick said. “The Patriot Award is only presented to employers who not only hire Guard and Reserve members, but demonstrate superior support to the military employee and his or her family. The National Guard and Reserve Forces are the cornerstone of our national defense. Mr. Healy has provided outstanding support and cooperation and has exhibited a patriotic spirit which is reflected in the significance of being a recipient of the Patriot Award.”

Osmulski has been a member of the National Guard for eight years and recently returned from a nine-month deployment to Kuwait in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

“I am honored and humbled to receive the Patriot Award,” Healy said. “Bill has been a remarkable part of the MacIver team for years and we could not be prouder of his service to our country. I am especially thankful to our outstanding Board of Directors, a group that has been nothing but supportive of Bill’s duties as a National Guard Soldier.”
