State Budget Passes in the Assembly with Very Little Debate

[Madison, Wisc…] The Assembly passed the their version of the 2013-2015 budget on Wednesday. In a stunning surprise, Assembly Democrats did not offer any amendments in addition to Rep. Brett Hulsey’s (D-Madison) amendment he proposed on Tuesday. Only Minority Leader Rep. Peter Barca (D-Kenosha) spoke out against the bill prior to final passage. The Senate will is scheduled to begin debate on the budget on Thursday at 10am.
