GAB Intervenes to Prevent Distribution of Food to Potential Voters

[MILWAUKEE] After learning that a pro-Obama group planned to distribute food to voters as a way of keeping them in line as polls close at Milwaukee’s Vincent High School, a concerned citizen alerted Wisconsin’s Government Accountability Board.

Because enticing potential voters with gifts or handouts is in violation of state law, the GAB has intervened.

According to Shane Falk, staff council at the GAB, Wisconsin’s top election agency contacted city of Milwaukee officials regarding the potential violation.

The city of Milwaukee then contacted the District Attorney’s office, and the DA has sent an official to the school to monitor the situation and prevent the distribution of food.

Polls close across Wisconsin at 8 PM.
